Laminated glass consists of two or more pieces of glass bonded together with a thin layer of vinyl in between that create a permanent bond and impart a clear glass finish. These laminated glasses support and hold the glass in place to form a strong, uniform layer. Laminated glass comes in different thicknesses and can be made using different glass combinations. The strength of laminated glass makes it nearly impossible to shatter, and even if the shattered glass does not shatter, the interlayer film in between will hold it in place when it shatters.
There are three types of films commonly used in laminated glass:
Polyvinyl butyral film (PVB): This PVB film is widely used in automotive and architectural glass.
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Film (EVA): EVA has good film layer flow, and EVA has a wider range of applications because it has more functional thermoplastics than PVB.

Comparing PVB and EVA
PVB has low adhesion to glass. It is also highly hygroscopic. PVB is more permeable to water than EVA, and the edge of PVB laminated glass is easy to permeate, so it is better to use EVA interlayer in places that often contact with water, such as: floor glass, bathroom glass, etc.
EVA has relatively low UV resistance.
