While Diablo 4 items aren’t balanced out yet, we now have heard the game will continue with the expansion type of the last two games, even when it’s also doing live service seasons. That means, without a doubt, more classes are going to be added as was the situation with Lord of Destruction and Reaper of Souls. But which classes?
I wanted to return through every Diablo class we’ve seen through the years and take out the ones that I think will probably make a return. My guess is the fact that we get a minimum of two eventually, as both Diablo 2 and 3 had two classes over time, but I have my attention on three specifically out of this list.
Diablo 1:
Warrior – Extremely Unlikely. This evolved into the Barbarian class eventually, which Diablo 4 already has, so it’s not likely to happen
Rogue – Already Exists. Diablo 4 brought back the Rogue class as…the actual Rogue class.
Sorcerer – Already Exists. A staple of the series nearly as much as Barbarian, and without even a reputation change at this.
Diablo 2:
Amazon – Somewhat Likely. While there are several aspects of the ranged Rogue and also the Amazon that overlap, I think these kinds could be primed to revisit the game, especially with hints concerning the Amazons that never went anyplace in Diablo 3. I want my Javazon back.
Barbarian – Already Exists.
Necromancer – Already Exists.
Paladin – Extremely Likely. Absolutely believe the Paladin will return. It would be a core class in Diablo 2 as well as an expansion class in Diablo 3. It’s different enough from all other classes where it doesn’t produce just about any overlap and appears like a prime candidate to come back.
Sorceress – Already Exists.
Assassin – Extremely Unlikely. The Rogue, regardless of the different name, is filling this role. It has all of the traps and daggers and shadow attacks it requires and this will be a redundant class.
Druid – Already Exists. I would be a little surprised to determine the Druid arrive like a core class, but I think it had been a good move.
Diablo 3:
Barbarian – Already Exists.
Witch Doctor – Extremely Unlikely. While Diablo 3 did get a Necromancer and also has the Witch Doctor, I think there’s an excessive amount of overlap between your two pet-based classes in d4 buy items to determine whether the Witch Doctor creates a return over a few of these others.
Wizard – Already Exists. This is just the Sorcerer/Sorceress called with a different name.
Monk – Somewhat Likely. While I firmly believe Paladin will return, I think it can be a toss-up between Monk and Amazon for that second class. Again, it’s a wholly unique type of play and would be a big hit in Diablo 3. We’ll see the things they think about bringing it back.
Demon Hunter – Extremely Unlikely. Rogue, Assassin, Demon Hunter, they’re all branches of an identical tree, even when the name keeps changing. No double-hand crossbows I guess, though.
Crusader – Extremely Likely. This is just the Paladin renamed. Like before, I think these kinds will return.
Necromancer – Already Exists. It was really weird to create the Necro in a standalone package in D3, but it was the result of an aborted expansion, I believe. Now he’s a core class.
