Looking for a job can be hard enough without worrying about timing, but it turns out that when you submit, your resume could matter more than you think. Fridays are one of the worst times to look for a job due to the fact that recruiters – like everyone else - might be rushing to close tasks and plan for the following week. If you send in your resume on a Friday, it more than likely won't get much attention and might even be forgotten altogether. This is especially crucial if the company is looking for someone immediately - showcasing how important timing can be.

A two-line email expressing gratitude and interest in the opportunity along with reiterating that you have already applied, would show initiative and help keep your application fresh in their minds. Tuesdays or Wednesdays are usually better days for initial emails than weekends since many employers work traditional 9-5 Monday through Thursday schedules at most companies.
