New Jordan 2020, Nike, even named after them, bears a subtle resemblance to Greek mythology. Previously, the goddess they drew inspiration from saw her own shoe, which likely inspired the upcoming Air Force 1 in some way. Roman mythology, on the other hand, takes the lead here. Although it is heavily influenced by the Greeks, it is full of its own vibrant culture. Far from a history lesson, this Air Force 1 faithfully replicates the color scheme and regal feel of the Empire. The patent leather overlay, which shines in lieu of the golden exterior, is dyed a crimson flag. At the very least, a gilded shade represents the tongue, in the shape of an ancient goddess.
2020 Cheap Jordans, sacai's longstanding partnership with Nike has resulted in some of the best collaborations in recent years - the LDWaffle, the Vaporwaffle, and even a batch of rebuilt Blazers. Later this year, the Japanese brand will add a similarly reimagined Cortez to its pedigree. Like the LDWaffle, the upper is largely faithful to the original silhouette, with smooth leather and grey suede eyelets/caps. Even the Swoosh has been kept, although it's paired with its printed counterpart, similar to Vaporwaffle. Continuing the tradition of the Chitose Abe oversole, the sole sits beautifully in between the previous two shoes, offering considerable but manageable volume, a prominent heel section and new cushioning in the forefoot.
The Air Jordan 1 has been used as a canvas for a variety of influences, some more outlandish than others. The silhouette here is ostensibly inspired by the African continent, with the shape depicted directly on the heel. Surrounding its image is a series of brightly colored panels, each with a unique choice of textures. The darker crimson collar is crinkled, while the adjacent pink ankle flap is defined by a smoother finish. As for the white Swoosh, there are cracks in the leather across the surface, possibly a nod to the arid Sahara desert. Unlike the tumbled base below, the texture of the heel tab and toe cap seems to pay homage to another African landscape – the savannah elephant.
