While Sebastian and Eamonn lingered in the poorly illuminated crypt, I seized the chance to observe the three Baroque masterpieces created by Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens in the church. Shortly thereafter, we reunited in the cathedral's café and cafe, De Plek. Housed inside a chapel of the cathedral, the bar geometry dash offers the church's exclusive beverages, which include a dark and blond ale. It is only in Belgium, a country known for its passion for beer, that one would encounter the arrangement of beers being served inside a cathedral.
Antwerp was our destination on the sixth day of a seven-night family river cruise on the Rhine, which took place onboard A-Rosa Cruises' A-Rosa Sena. Commencing in Cologne, Germany, our journey would go in a northwest direction towards Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Dordrecht in the Netherlands, followed by Antwerp, before culminating in a return to Cologne.
The association between river traveling and families is often limited, since the majority of river cruise companies primarily target an older demographic and provide few or no family amenities. A German river cruise company, A-Rosa Cruises, aims to revolutionise the industry by introducing the family-oriented A-Rosa Sena in June 2022.
The hybrid ship, which is partly fuelled by electricity, is the biggest vessel on the Rhine River, capable of accommodating up to 280 passengers. Additionally, the ship has other innovative industrial innovations. There is a lively children's club, 12 spacious family cabins at 301 square feet, accommodating up to five with integrated bunk beds, and a specialized children's splash pool on the upper deck.
