Revitalising a Historic Property in the Heart of Warwickshire

Faced with significant structural challenges, the owners of Leasow Farm in Whichford, Shipston-on-Stour, sought ASRS’s expertise for an extensive restoration project. Recognised for our proficiency in large-scale masonry repairs, we were well-equipped to address the complexities of this historic rural estate.

The Challenge:

Leasow Farm, a sprawling agricultural property with multiple buildings, was grappling with extensive cracking and structural instability across 17 distinct areas. The scope of the project was vast, encompassing Areas A through L, the Dairy Building, Dividing Walls, and various elevations. Each zone presented unique challenges, necessitating a tailored approach to ensure comprehensive structural reinforcement.

Our Bespoke Solution:

ASRS crafted an extensive repair strategy utilising the innovative Helifix system, designed to address the diverse structural issues across the property:


Masonry Reinforcement:

  • Installation of 23 twin bands and 79 single bands of Helibar 60 stainless steel reinforcing
  • Strategic placement of reinforcing bars, including specialised techniques such as drilling back at 20-degree angles for optimal stability

Structural Stabilisation:

  • Implementation of 185 Helifix Cem ties across various areas to enhance structural integrity
  • Installation of 22 Sock Anchors of varying lengths (600-700mm) to provide additional support


Crack Treatment:

  • Meticulous raking out and injection of thixotropic cementitious grout across all 17 repair zones

Specialised Interventions:

  • Installation of 4 tie bars (5000mm long) in strategic locations
  • Utilisation of 50 M8 Helifix Sockfix anchors (1000mm long) for reinforcing dividing walls and other critical areas
