After you've constructed one of the two you have the option to build a room below which there will only be one option for that. When you've constructed the room(s) then you can build as normal in construction mode, creating treasure rooms, dungeon hallways and intersections or any other room from above you would like to put down below.
Also, if you've not yet done so, taking the Love Story quest unlocks a new kind of dungeon room that adds a variety range of new demon guards that you can place in the room like scarabites, black demons, iron dragons and more. And the majority of these new monsters are cheaper than the original Trolls, Hellhounds, and steel dragons, etc.. If I've missed something, please feel free to ask once more.

Ok, basically I'm trying get my fire cape but i'm not sure what to take. I've checked out two guides one saying karil and bolt racks, the other which mentions rune c'bow as well as diamond (e) bolts. What should I change? I want to sell my karil bow. buy diamond bolts? do I take ava accumulator? I'm unsure of how much ammunition I require. Then I can sell/purchase these to purchase items I require. (obviously cannot afford rangers and fury so no point telling me to purchase them).
