An employee of oldschool runescape developer Jagex has been released after stealing presumably large amounts of in-game gold from players. Jagex brought the case to the public in one, without going into details. A particularly hard-hit player had posted his suspicion about a developer vulnerability two months ago. The player had lost 45 billion in-game gold. Based on the exchange rate of relevant in-game gold exchanges, this corresponds to a real-money value of around 40,000 euros.
