Celebrate twelve months of Elden Ring with these 12 favorite features within the Lands Between

Part of that's right down to the involvement of Games of Thrones novelist and screenwriter George R.R

As a game title rooted in paradoxical time cycles, it appears fitting that Elden Ring feels both recent and ancient. On one hand, it's tough to believe it's already been a complete year since FromSoftware's latest, brutally challenging action RPG first graced our screens; but on the other, it's had this type of huge impact – on its respective genre and also the wider landscape of mainstream game titles – it's already tough to picture the entertainment world without them.

Part of that's right down to the involvement of Games of Thrones novelist and screenwriter George R.R. Martin who assisted in the Lands Between's creation, but much of it's right down to the fact Elden Ring is really remarkable gaming.

It requires a special game to earn a five-star rating at GamesRadar+, and Elden Ring a lot more than earns its place as one of the panthea in our greatest games. Joel Franey writes: "When Elden Ring hits the rails, the momentum carries it forward and will not slow down…

It is probably not as groundbreaking since it's inspirations, but taken on its very own terms, Elden Ring might be the best of its brethren – and that is something I'm still struggling to think has actually happened."
