Sony has ambitious plans for the future generation of virtual reality hardware, as it plans that it will have two million models of its PSVR 2 headset ready by March next year.
Production of the VR headset is said to have started on September 1st (via Bloomberg) and has so far not faced problems with the supply chain. With the PS5 remains extremely popular due to its low availability since it launched in November of 2020, Sony also plans to offer more consoles on shelves by the time 2023 arrives, according to Bloomberg's sources.
PSVR 2 isn't yet set to be released beyond 2023, however Sony is trying to make sure that there's enough PS5 consoles available to play games with the new headset. The device will only work with PS5 and won't be compatible with backwards-compatible PSVR games.
The only thing we know about the device is that it packs amazing specifications. Like similar to PS5 with its DualSense controller Sony has jammed haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, inside-out tracking, eye-tracking, and 3D audio into the kit which isn't yet available for an official retail price.
"PSVR 2 is poised to be a major boost for the gaming industry," Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot's PSVR 2 preview. "It remains to be seen whether PSVR 2 will attract a wide excitement, but at most, I'm sure that it'll be one step closer towards achieving the full potential of this device."

Horizon Zero Dawn may be getting a significant upgrade in the coming months, according to a new report. The report says that cheapest FUT 23 Coins "accessibility features graphic modes, graphics options, as well as quality of life enhancements to the game's gameplay" will improve the gameplay. Guerrilla Games' 2017 title up to the same standard as its 2022 sequel Horizon Forbidden West.
