World of Warcraft Season of Discovery launches this year for Xbox One and PC. It's not an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means that purchasing it on one platform gives you access to WoW Classic SoD Gold the other platform without cost. The progress of all players, which includes save files and achievements, is transferred between platforms.
MMOexp: Are there particular lessons you learned from the very initial World of Warcraft Season of Discovery that you would like to improve upon?
Jeff Strain: Oh yeah... When we began working for World of Warcraft Season of Discovery, we set down and sorted everything in three buckets. We needed to considerthe things that the players liked that we're planning to do more of and what are the things we'd like to invent and add new features to it, and what were the things that did not work which we'll either have to completely revamp or eliminate? Of these online progression systems, the offline system was the most...the feature that players were the most eager to go away from, as the best thing about World of Warcraft Season of Discovery is, it's a permanent feature.
The way to work is that we have a legal agreement with the players, and the terms of that contract are: "If you die, it's your fault." The game isn't throwing something random at you. You've got all the tools you need to WoW Season of Discovery Gold recognize the danger and take your own decision and, if you pass away and you die, we want you to come out with the thought, "Ah, if only I'd taken X or Y!" Then, "Here's where I made the wrong choice or stayed for way too long." Offline progression caused problems, as it could happen when you were out of the game. It was in violation of the terms of the contract and it wasn't working well. It was the most significant problem we needed to resolve.
