The Diablo 4 Season 6 release date is here, along with all the details we currently know about the upcoming season in Blizzard's action RPG.

When does Diablo 4 Season 6 release? The much-loved feature from Diablo 3 makes its return in D4 with the (re)introduction of seasons, adding new questlines, items, gameplay mechanics, and more. Expanding on the rich, gothic world of Sanctuary, Blizzard ensures there's plenty to explore, whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned veteran of the Burning Hells.

Just like every other seasonal event, expect Season 6 to bring a wealth of new content to Blizzard’s action RPG, catering to both level 100 veterans and newcomers considering a jump into the game now that it’s on Game Pass.

### Diablo 4 Season 6 Release Date
The Diablo 4 Season 6 release date is set for October 8, 2024, coinciding with the launch of the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion. This expansion introduces a new class, a new region, and more, as confirmed in an interview with Windows Central.

### Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR
The Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR (Public Test Realm) will be available from September 4 to September 11, 2024. You can find the full list of features available for testing in a Blizzard news post.

To access the PTR, open the Blizzard Battle.net app, select Diablo 4 from the games list, and set the selector above the play button to Public Test Realm. Install the PTR, launch the game, and create a new test character to get started.

### Diablo 4 Seasons Explained
Diablo 4 seasons typically last around three months, with four seasons per year. You must complete the campaign to experience the new seasonal stories. However, if you're new to D4, you can complete the campaign in the seasonal realm, and your progress will contribute to your Diablo 4 Battle Pass.

If you're already familiar with the game, you'll need to create new seasonal characters, starting fresh from level one. This allows you to experience the seasonal content and earn great loot. Once the season ends, your character won't be lost; they will be transferred to the Eternal Realm, where you can continue your adventures.

### Previous Diablo 4 Seasons
Here’s a recap of what each previous season introduced:

- **Season 1 – Season of the Malignant**: Introduced a new short story campaign where players hunted Varshan the Consumed and dealt with blight through Malignant Hearts.
- **Season 2 – Season of the Blood**: Added up to 22 vampiric powers, transferred to the base game as aspects, along with several endgame bosses and the Blood Harvest event.
- **Season 3 – Season of the Construct**: Introduced Seneschal, a robot companion upgradable with abilities and traits, new dungeon type Vaults, leaderboards, and always active Helltides.
- **Season 4 – Season of Loot Reborn**: Featured a campaign where Iron Wolves members disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Players fought Helltide to earn Iron Wolves standing, with significant changes to item acquisition and loot mechanics.
- **Season 5 – Season of the Infernal Hordes**: Added the Infernal Hordes mode, where players defeat waves of enemies within a time limit, advancing through the Well of Hatred and spending Burning Aether on spoils.
