Blockchain vs distributed ledger technology (DLT) are both decentralized systems designed to store data across multiple nodes, but blockchain is a specific type of DLT. Blockchain organizes data into blocks and chains, each linked to the previous one, ensuring transparency and immutability. DLT, however, encompasses a broader range of systems that may not necessarily use a chain structure. Both technologies aim to eliminate single points of failure and enhance trust without central authorities, but blockchain is the most widely adopted form.
