Whether the paper selection of the book can best present the content

It is often said that seeing the word is like face to face.

It is often said that seeing the word is like face to face. In fact, getting a book is the same as seeing a person. It is warm, close, and expectant. For books, paper is as important, indivisible, and complementary to each other as the body and skin are to people. A good book is a play, even if it is a point, a symbol, or a page, it is a role.

Choosing paper for a book is like finding someone. There is no good or bad, only matching or not. At a larger scale, it determines whether it matches the temperament of the book; at a smaller scale, whether it can best present the content. When I first entered the industry, I felt that the coated paper was heavy and pale, and I didn't like to use it. But later discovered that there is no absolute difference between good and bad paper selection. The characteristic of coated paper is the best in color reproduction, and light paper also has its advantages and disadvantages.

The real consideration when choosing paper is: how to choose the most cost-effective paper, which has good printing effect, best fits the content of the book, and is also cheap.

Which part of the paper should I choose?

A. If it is a paperback book

1. Internal paper;

2. Ring lining paper: the layer of paper between the cover and the text. (There are also some paperback books without ring lining);

3. Paper for inner seal;

4. External cover paper: not every book has it;

5. Waist seal paper: not every book has it, some books, the waist seal is part of the outer cover.

B. If it is a hardcover book:

1. Internal paper;

2. Ring backing paper;

3. Mounting board: the hard shell of the hardcover;

4. Mounting board paper: it is the layer of paper or cloth that is mounted on the outside of the hard shell (remind everyone to consider the effect after mounting the board);

5. External cover paper: not every book has it;

6. Waist seal paper: Not every book has it. Many people hate the waist seal, but some well-designed girdle seals will enhance the overall design.
